Hi all – this is Fiona here, Bianca’s mum.
Just a quick update to let everyone know that Bianca is currently up on Mount Lobuche (specifically Lobuche East), where she, Kristin and Pemba have gone to acclimatise further. There’s no internet there but both Paul and I are able to communicate with her via her Satellite Garmin.
She says that the climb up was nice but very snowy at the end, and no views. And even though she’s climbed there already, the route is slightly different and there’s not much space to move around. They are the only people camping there, although they did see a few people climbing in the morning.
Yesterday the weather was too bad to go to the summit, but this afternoon they went.
Other than that, they’ve been hanging out in their tent. She says it’s a little bit boring but… oh well!
Not quite sure if they’ll come down tomorrow or stay another night at this stage.
