Everest 2026

Everest day 3! – Everest view!

12 April 2026 · By Bianca

Today was a rest day – so we have 2 nights in Namche. We walked up to Everest view hotel which, as the name suggests, has great views of Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam on a clear day. We were very lucky and had amazing views with clouds coming in and out.

Dad, Tim and I went a little higher, over to Khumjung (the biggest village in the Khumbu valley) and visited the monastery and Hillary school. Its important that we use these “rest” days to get a little higher (we climbed about 500m above Namche) and keep the heart rate up, as this helps us get more used to the altitude. The classic “climb high, sleep low” method!

We came back down, and had the best burgers at the Sherpa Barista Café again. It’s some of my favourite food in the Khumbu! Dad and I grabbed our work/schoolwork from our room, then went back to the café to work some more 🤭

I had dinner, then, surprise.. I went BACK to the café to hop on some calls, then went straight to bed 🙂

At our favourite café getting a “good luck blessing”
Phunjo surprised me at Everest view hotel!
Everest is the back one on the left with the wind blowing off, Lhotse (4th highest) just to the right of it with more wind, and Ama Dablam is the biggest looking on the far right – dad and I climbed this one in October of 2024
