Today was Puja day, which is a very important and fun day for all climbers. The Lama comes over to each camp (on different days) to perform the ceremony to ask the mountain for permission for us to climb it.
It was SUCH a beautiful day, so warm and sunny with great views of the surrounding mountains. The Lama recites prayers from long scriptures, and it usually takes a couple of hours. It sort of sounds like a song, with bells being rung every so often, and cymbals being banged throughout the chants. The Puja was held just for SST and 14 Peaks (part of the same company) and their climbers. We sat in the sun, drank coke (and beer and whisky) and some of the Sherpas continued the party well into the afternoon :))
I then had an interview regarding the icefall condition, as the SPCC still are not opening it. Some people are quite anxious, some are optimistic (the people I try to surround myself with) and some are very pessimistic.
I chilled in the coffee tent, and went for dinner!
