So we’re still waiting on the Khumbu icefall to open…
Everyone is quite anxious, as we ALL need to do at least 1 rotation on the mountain and we are just sitting around waiting for news. They are now organising meetings between companies to see what other Sherpas think.
At least I got a lot of study done today!! 🥳🥳🥳
I sat in the coffee tent with some friends, and spent a while trying to make a tiktok video hahahaha! It’s a lot easier to make a video that I am satisfied with, when I am at 8000m or feeling absolutely awful, than down here where I record each clip 87593 times. I am getting so many messages and questions in my social media comment sections, and with a bit of free time, it’s only fair to answer as many as I can!
I did another study block before dinner (and might of had a coffee at 5pm), and before it got very cold. :)) Our friend Kia is Iranian and he brought us some Iranian stew made from different herbs and celery which was so good! Most of the group from our dining tent have left to go to Lobuche East (a nearby 6100m mountain) to acclimatise before Everest, but we already did Island Peak on our way in, so we can chill out here.
Song of the day: Mama Tried
(i’ve been really into the country music + maths combo)
