Today we walked from Dingboche (4300m) to Lobuche (4800m).
The morning was beautiful and we had clear skies and amazing views of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Island Peak, Makalu, Cholatse, and Lobuche Peak.
As we walked in the new valley with Pheriche, it got very very cold and windy. Even with my 2 pairs of liner gloves my hands were freezing!!
We had lunch in Thukla and visited the memorial of the many climbers that passed in the Everest region. Honestly it did hit a bit hard for me, knowing I am going exactly where all of these people died. But I took it as a reminder of the seriousness of this sport and to not take it lightly. I am very grateful for all of the experience I have accumulated, on high altitude mountains, technical peaks and traverses, hours of training, long hiking days and learning how to be comfortable with the uncomfortable. I will use all of this to give myself and my dad the safest ascent possible.
