Everest 2025

Day 4 – Everest

11 April 2025 · By Bianca

today we walked from Namche 3400m to Deboche 3800m.

The start was quite nice, with flat walking and good views of Ama Dablam, and even a couple glimpses of Everest!

We had tea along the way (with some very interesting bathroom situations 🫢), and descended to Funki Tenga. We had lunch there, then climbed up a decent hill to Tengboche at 3800m. Before the big climb I met up with Evan, who we climbed Manaslu with, who is here to climb Everest with us. It’s so good to see our climbing friends again, especially after going from seeing them everyday for over 6 weeks, to being on the other side of the world.

We visited the monastery in Tengboche, the biggest in the Khumbu region. This was partly to distract us from the fact that it was raining and freezing cold outside. But we still had to walk another 30 minutes down to Debuche. So we put on some 2010’s pop to cheer us up and we danced down to our lodge!

This was the revolutionary day that we realised that the lodges served hot chocolate. We drank over 6 litres of hot chocolate! With that we ate apple pies with more chocolate, and popcorn! At least we still have big appetites! #healthiswealth

That night we had Bananagrams championships and filmed “EBC ASMR” videos.
