Still no good news from the icefall doctors, but I am staying optimistic that it will open.
Didn’t do too much today, just had breakfast, then did some work. Kristen and I went over to another company’s camp to see Adri (her company) and Emma who are both good friends!! This was the ONLY time that I have been in a full dining tent with only women! 🥳🥳
So I have a new plan!:
Kristen and I are going to climb Lobuche Peak (6100m) and hopefully camp on the summit for a couple of nights. Our rotations should have well and truly started by now, and with the icefall not being open (we don’t know when it will) we might as well get some altitude in us. I will be away for about 4 nights. Dad does not need to acclimatise as much since he is not going for the summit,
andddd it’s also nice to climb alongside the climber I have looked up to for the past few years. I never thought I would meet Kristen, let alone, become friends with her and climb with her! She is the fastest person to climb all 14 8000m peaks, more than double the speed of the previous (male) record :))
I did more work in the coffee tent, and we had dinner, this time joined by 2 people who had returned from Lobuche Peak.
