Today was another rest day since we did our acclimatisation hike yesterday.
We had breakfast and I went to the communal tent to meet up with climbing friends from other expeditions, as well as some new people. Everyone finds it interesting to hear about how people trained for this, and our previous climbing experiences. Today, me and some other climbers were laughing about the many discomforts of climbing and high altitude, but yet we still are so driven!
In my experiences climbing, there has always been a vast majority of males. They are mostly all nice, but I often miss some more female representation. Today, at the table there were about 7 of us women! I felt so empowered to be surrounded by women in the mountains, and hopefully we can help inspire more women and girls to participate in more outdoor sports!
I was a bit tired from yesterday’s hike, so I took advantage of my tent being warm (finally) in the middle of the day, and had the best nap!
After lunch I did some schoolwork in my tent – chemistry is hard!!
We all played cards at night, with some new and older friends from other expeditions, which was so fun, and went to bed!!!
