Hi everyone,
Just a quick update to let you know that Bianca and Paul reached camp 2 today.
They said the weather hasn’t been great – lots of snow, quite windy and it was very cold last night. But during the day it was quite relaxing band warm in the tent.
Despite the conditions, Bianca said that the icefall is the most beautiful thing she’s ever seen! She is going really well and feeling good, but Paul is currently finding the going tough and is slower than he’d like to be. Hopefully a bit more acclimatisation will help.
Meanwhile, at the other end of the Khumbu valley, Kerry and I were able to fly into Lukla late morning. We were skeptical we’d be able to go as there was a lot of low cloud but they cleared just enough to make it possible.
We then met up with our guide -Ringzing- and enjoyed lunch in Lukla before trekking to Phakding. It’s great to be on our way!
Sorry, but I can’t get photos of Bianca and Paul. I’m sure they’ll post them when they get back to Basecamp.
